Frank Turner - New single 'Isabel' - 12th April

Following the news of his biggest headline show to date at the O2 Academy Brixton later on this year, Frank Turner announces the release of the beautiful new single ‘Isabel’ on 12th April 2010 through Xtra Mile Recordings. This stunning and moving ode to someone special is the third single to be taken from his Top 40 album ‘Poetry Of The Deed’ released in September last year.

Frank Turner - Isabel

The single comes out just weeks after Frank completes his huge headline tour in March which will culminate in a packed out London Roundhouse on 24th March, tickets of which sold out 2 months in advance of the gig. The O2 Academy Brixton show as been added due to this popular demand; an incredible achievement considering his humble beginnings of playing tiny venues, house parties, pubs, car parks and anywhere else that would have him - only a few years ago. Testament if ever there was need for one, that Frank has turned underground cult status into a mainstream success story.

Frank says: “Life has been getting increasingly surreal in recent years, but headlining Brixton really is something special; I'm not sure I ever dared dream I'd get to this stage. It's an honour.”

Recorded at Frank’s incendiary sold out O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire show which took place last October, ‘Long Live The Queen’ captures the energy and passion of a triumphant pinnacle of Frank’s solo career. It features on ‘Take To The Road’ - an all encompassing DVD/CD package also released on 22nd March through Xtra Mile Recordings. Picking up where 2007’s ‘All About The Destination’ DVD left off it includes the entire live set from O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, the sold out show at Union Chapel at Christmas, as well as promo videos, tour diaries, backstage interviews, a photo gallery and the audio of the Shepherd’s Bush gig as a bonus CD disc.

Currently supporting Flogging Molly on their huge arena tour in the USA and having recently sold out solo shows in Toronto, Montreal and LA - the international plot continues to grow with a confirmed set at Coachella Festival in April, dates on the Revival Tour in Australia, gigs in Hong Kong and a slot at the famous Calgary Folk Festival in July.
He will also be headlining 2000trees Festival in July with further UK and international summer festivals to be announced over the next few months.

Frank Turner - New Single, New Album & Tours Galore!

“Heavy-clever wit and wry, do-or-die romantic solidarity of socially superconscious singer-songwriter Billy Bragg by way of Joe Strummer” (Austin Chronicle)

Continuing his meteoric rise to superstardom, Frank Turner will be releasing his brand new download-only single ‘The Road’ on 31st August through Xtra Mile Recordings/Epitaph Records. It’s an immediately catchy slice of sing-a-long folk/punk taken from the stunning forthcoming album ‘Poetry Of The Deed’.

SENDFrankcat

‘Poetry…’ – Frank’s third studio album – is released a week later on 7th September on Xtra Mile Recordings/Epitaph for UK and Ireland and through Epitaph/Xtra Mile Recordings for the rest of the world. Recruiting his outstanding live band for the recording process Frank, along with Grammy nominated producer Alex Newport (Death Cab For Cutie, At The Drive-In, Two Gallants) has captured the essence of his live show onto the record as performing live has always been at the very heart of the Frank Turner experience. The results are a big, lush album that showcases Frank’s growing maturity in song-writing and style perfectly.

‘The Road’ is accompanied by a video of Frank’s quite honestly mental attempt to play 24 shows in 24 hours. This involved posting a request on his blog for a load of London-based places where he could come and play a few songs. Tiny frontrooms and kitchens, roof terraces and warehouses, music magazine offices and a record store were all donated and Frank played them all, culminating at a crowded and raucous finale at North London’s Flowerpot venue.
